Draft Video

The Audience gave some responses to the draft video I posted on YouTube and made on Premiere Pro. The first question that was does the clip that I posted make it look interesting for the future footage to come in the future and their responses were positive and some responses were shorter than others with some just responding with yes and some giving more of a descriptive response with some saying that the topic will be interesting to look forward to when the footage eventually comes, some other responses were answers such as that the viewer will be intrigued by the music choice and the topic that was announced.
The second question was simply what did the audience like about the draft video with some mentioning things such as music that was used for the main intro and how it was used, others mentioned that the clips used were well gathered and how they were shown in different places like how the clips focused on one place like the field areas and the places in the other like the church. The mentioning of how the opening and closing was professional caught my eye as I thought it was just a generic intro and ending but it was good that someone in the audience thought that it was a professional style of intro and outro which will definitely give me more inspiration to do such edits like that. The third question that I asked the audience was that does the audience get the sense of what the documentary was about and the responses were mostly a positive one and they answered yes which was good for me as now I have a good reason to keep up on the video that I am making and give more facts about football to the audience and show how the culture can relate to the topic of Identity.
The final question asked to the audience is that what should be improved about the possible video that will be coming in the future and what should be improved about the clip that was shown and some responses were suggesting that I get more clips about football which was and will be a challenge as some of the resources I have will be a bit tricky to have that will give me more of the footage about football, other responses that I got was make the footage more focused and less of the shaking which will be fine to depending what I am doing on that clip as for example, walking along while filming will be challenging as I will have to use some other equipment to make sure the shaking becomes less which I do not have access to and the focusing of the camera is going to be handled better especially with some of the clips that I already recorded.
Changes to Documentary
12th of May 2022: The recent changes I have had to the Documentary was changes in music, voiceovers and scene changes. These were due to Issues I have had with certain features when using Premiere Pro and when doing the rendering, most of the voice clips from the interview parts of the documentary were suddenly erased and I need to look over the clip to find the right ones to use and those were then completed and saved so that they wouldn't be taken of the editing. The changes in the music was recent as I felt like it wasn't good enough for the video for when it was fully done and so to resolve this, I went onto Bensound as that was recommended to me and when skimming through different soundtracks, I found a one that would suit the interviews and the intro and by downloading the soundtracks onto my PC, I uploaded them onto Premiere Pro and used the cut tool to shorten the clip so that it would fully sort out the intro for when the speaking lines would eventually appear.
The voice overs were next as those needed a few changes as the issues with that was the lines were too messy and wouldn't fit into my documentary and with some assistance, I managed to get a camera with a microphone that could be equipped onto the Canon DSLR which would prove very useful when recording these lines and so when doing the lines, I came up with a new topic to talk about and that would be the sudden toxicity in the football culture which would prove that even if the culture has some good parts, there will always be bad parts and so bringing up such matches like England vs Italy in 2021 was a good option was that was a moment that some football fans showed true toxicity. When recording these lines, I arranged to record in the studio at college and when setting up the camera and tripod, the scene was important for the recording so by getting a simple chair set up, I recorded myself reading out these lines for the narration.
Finally was the scene changes as these were a big change in my documentary as the main issue for me was getting footage that related to the topic that I was going for as the getting to certain places was an issue for me so a solution was to use clips from other videos that were related to the topic that I chose and the first ones I used was small clips from football matches that were popular amongst fans in the north east and when those were fully done, I used a graphic to credit the title of the video and the same for the other clip. Next was the clips from the sports course in my college and using clips from a drone distance was perfect for my documentary when explaining about what has recently happened in the documentary and those will be credited once I eventually get back to editing the documentary.
13th of May 2022: When I was editing the footage today, I noticed that there some more issues with not having enough footage to use in my documentary so I had to rely on the clips used by other content that was YouTube as getting footage was an issue I had and still have to this day. When using the clips I had gotten from YouTube, I used the one from the highlights of the England vs Italy match where Saka (A player on the England team) had missed a shot and that's when I needed the footage the most and when I first logged onto the PC that I was using, I noticed that the music from Bensound had been removed so I had to backtrack to the website and reupload it onto Premiere Pro where it was attached to the right place it had to be and the same was with the music for interviews but that was taken out to be replaced soon. The final change I had done was the decision of keeping the interview with the referee similar to the ones with the students as that proved to be efficient for me to do and it was a good way to show that I can use the same tactic to make a good edit and with the use of graphics on Premiere Pro, I made sure to have enough space to write all the questions down and that it would jump cut into the scene where the interview was taking place and having that all done made realize I could do more better edits like this in the future.
16th of May 2022: Today I made sure to correct any mistakes made when I came in on Friday to continue the editing and when it was the next day of production I made sure to check over everything to see if it was right to be in the Documentary but there was a mishap with one the clips where it had been replaced with a clip that I have not seen in a long time so I erased it from the edit and replaced with the right and correct clip and when I did that, I made sure to rewatch the clip before using the cut tool to erase the right section so that the voice line would be the only ones left. The usage of Technical Skill was used in this scenario to describe the usage of different kinds of footage and how the solution was done, not only were the voice lines improved but content was added onto sections with no clips playing over them and how this was done, I made sure to watch the right types of content so that it would make more sense to fit into the documentary and the content that I watched and added onto the edit was "Why is football violence increasing? atalkSPORT & the Times investigation." This video was about how the people of the UK whether from the north east or not can be violent in nature when it comes to the sport and the people of this video investigate the reasons on why that is, how I got this onto my documentary was using the YouTube Downloader and uploading it onto premiere pro and it was put into small sections by the usage of the cut tool on premiere pro that lets you cut certain parts of clips and content to the right section so that the user can include it in their edit.
17th of May 2022: Today I was making improvements in my documentary where I had noticed that some of the voice lines were missing and the reason was unknown so the solution to this problem was to look back at the clip it was originally from and cut the audio off using the cut tool and when this was done it was placed back into its respected area but this wasn't just the only audio clip that was removed mysteriously, there were other ones gone as well so when this was an even bigger problem; I made sure to get them back although I missed one out which wasn't an issue. The other update was the addition of music and by getting recommendation by a college lecturer, Bensound was the right decision to look for music. When looking for music, I found one that suit the interviews just right and the music was called Perception and the sounds of the music was nice and casual for the interviews to progress and when that clip was playing, I noticed that the music was a little too quiet to hear the interviewees talk and so by getting feedback from a classmate, I used the audio clip mixer to get it just to the right volume and so the interviewee's could now be heard and when that was done, I looked back on the clip with the music in and it was very satisfying to watch and it gave me a sense of accomplishment when it was done but the last problem was cutting the music off when the next clip played and so by using the effects section on premiere pro, I used an effect known as constant power in the audio transitions and made sure the music had a good send off when the interviews ended.
