Script Production Diary

21st March 2022: I began my production of the script by starting with thinking about what to start with and having a few minutes to thing about it, like how I made my storyboard I made sure to include every scene that was done in the storyboard and starting with the stadium scene, I wrote about what would happen in that particular scene such as the narrator that being me first entering the scene and what they were saying in that scene. Moving on from that was explaining the other scenes and what was happening them such as the scene where the narrator explains details about the fans of football and how many fans are there estimated.

22nd March 2022: The next day was to start and think about what questions I was going to ask when doing the interviews and with this I came up with asking the person/s what the sport football means to them and how it can relate to finding what a person can identify as when they are a fan of the sport. After was heading with the next scene where the narrator (me) was then explaining to the audience about what the conclusion of the answers were and how they can help the identity of people.

23rd March 2022: After the 2nd day of production I decided to think about what would happen next in the documentary and then looking from what was sketched in the storyboard, the next scene would be myself walking along something and explaining some details to the audience although this maybe cut and then replaced with something and with that the scene is then cut to another interview but this time it was with someone who works in the football industry as a referee for matches. After that took place it was a final explanation for the interview side of the documentary as I give a short explanation on the scene that took place but the explanation could be longer when the time comes for the shooting to begin.

24th March 2022: The final day of the script writing and going through some of the script, I have made some changes with some of the scenes like how I mentioned about how the explanation for the 2nd interview would be longer and have more details in that particular part of the script, with that completed I wrote about how the final would be completed by having a final explanation for the audience to listen to about how each of the interviews and analysis can prove how specific cultures can help with how to identify a certain person and when that scene was completed , the final scene would be the end credits.

What happened during the recordings

During the process of these recordings, we used the studio in the college and having the studio was a good factor in this recording as it showed a good enough area to do footage. In these interviews I asked 3 of my classmates a certain number of questions around the subject of football and they each gave their own respected answers depending on the questions that they were asked, the final question was the more important one and that was "How do you think the culture of football links into the subject of identity" this question was more relating to the actual plan of my documentary as I planned to show how the main culture of Football can relate to the subject of identity and how it helps people with trying to find their main identity in a culture. The main lighting of the recording was provided by the college and no further lighting needed to be included in the recording for this test, with the lighting being just regular light on the roof of the room; the main equipment for these recordings were used by a DSLR Camera and a Tripod that were once again provided by college and with these equipment, I was able to do these recordings and having the camera be set up in front of a chair where the person being interviewed would be sitting, it fit into the theme of interviews and had a decent background to the film.

What I think went well with the interviews is the main process of it as everyone did their part well and handled certain questions well too and with some communication, It was easier for the people in the test interview to think about the questions they were going to be asked and with the select few I chose, it wasn't really difficult for them to answer some questions about the football topic as these few had a good knowledge of how the game works and their experience with the sport was good as well. What I think should've been improved in these recordings was the coordination of some of the clips as there were a few interruptions and redo's for footage on some occasions which were mainly due to the whereabouts the recordings were located and some of the people needed to redo their test footage as they either messed a few words or needed to add something they previously said and missed the chance which wasn't a big issue for myself but either way the recordings were very well done in the end.
